Hello, my name is Kelsey Cabrera, and I am an LPC-A, under the supervision of Jackeline Hurtado, MEd, LPC-S.
I was born and raised in Houston, TX and I am bilingual. I speak both Spanish and English. In my personal life, I enjoy cooking, watching movies, reading books, and traveling.
During my time in grad school, I acquired extensive knowledge on how to thrive as a counselor. In addition, throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients. I worked with children, teens, adults, and seniors. I had the chance to interact with many clients, and it was undoubtedly a valuable learning experience.
I have a particular interest in working with trauma and PTSD, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, relationship issues, grief, and life transitions. The therapeutic approaches I use with my clients are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy (PCT).
As a counselor, I have a huge passion for helping others. I believe in providing the opportunity for my clients to express their viewpoints, discuss ideas, and voice their opinions. Therefore, I establish a secure atmosphere, based on trust, and free from judgment. After all, I want all of my clients to feel comfortable.
I have a strong desire to assist others. Being able to accompany someone on their path to recovery, and wellbeing is an absolute honor. I want to help you overcome any feelings of sadness, anxiousness, and any other struggles that are interfering with your life. Happiness is more than just a positive attitude. Happiness is the sensation of enjoying life and being able to take small steps to make that happen.
I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you in any way possible.
