Hello! My name is Katrease Matthews, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate at Texas Counseling Center’s Katy location. I am supervised by Mrs. Abbi Jones Pruitt, NCC, LPC-S, LCSW, LCDC, BC-TMP.
I earned my Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Prairie View A&M University, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University.
I am passionate about supporting children and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, life transitions, mood disorders, personality disorders, suicide, and self-harm. I have experience working with these populations and am committed to providing compassionate, collaborative, and individualized care.
In my therapeutic approach, I utilize evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and mindfulness to create a non-judgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions.
Outside of work, I enjoy nature walks, spending time with family, and being a full-time dog mom.
I am dedicated to partnering with parents, caregivers, and young individuals to support their growth and development. I look forward to assisting you on this journey and meeting with you soon.
