Hello! My name is Lauren Weaver, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), under the supervision of Linette Tovar, LPC-S. I received my Bachelors of Science in Human Resource Development from The University of Houston, and I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
I was born and raised in Sugar Land, Texas and have always wanted a career where I can truly make a difference. Life is filled with many ups and downs, and it can be hard to prioritize our mental health as we navigate this fast-paced world. That’s why I am here to help! I believe in the healing power of counseling, and it is my privilege to work with clients on their journeys toward better mental health, personal growth, and self-acceptance.
My ultimate goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where we can work together to create positive, lasting change. I approach every client with empathy and compassion because I want you to feel comfortable. I believe the counseling relationship is the building block to successful outcomes, so earning your trust is very important to me.
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with clients, an evidence-based practice commonly used to treat mental health concerns like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and much more. I enjoy and have extensive experience helping clients bring awareness to how their thoughts and core beliefs impact their development, behaviors, current struggles, and overall mental wellbeing. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which I have found to be a great tool for trauma survivors and those battling PTSD. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and enjoy utilizing a strengths-based approach.
I believe in working collaboratively with my clients to set goals and formulate a treatment plan that works best for you. Together, we can tackle the challenges you’re facing!
