Hello, my name is Anmol Prasla, and I am an LPC associate, under the supervision of Ayesha Lakhani, MA, LPC-S.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas State University. I then pursued my graduate studies at the University of Houston-Victoria, where I earned a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My counseling approach is deeply rooted in creating a safe and nurturing environment for my clients. In a world often filled with challenges, we can sometimes feel like we are carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders. My goal is to help lighten those burdens, so you don’t have to endure them alone. Through support, compassion, and a safe space, I believe you can overcome some of these obstacles in your life.
I have experience working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship issues, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. My therapeutic offerings include play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and a person-centered approach. Each of these methods is tailored to meet the unique needs of my clients, ensuring that they receive the most effective and personalized care possible. I am committed to helping you find the strength and resilience within yourself to navigate life’s challenges and achieve a sense of well-being.
As a Pakistani American who grew up navigating the complexities of two cultures, I understand the unique challenges immigrant children and families face. Balancing cultural expectations, managing the weight of high standards, and finding a sense of belonging in two worlds are struggles that many experience. My background shapes my approach as a therapist, allowing me to offer empathy, understanding, and culturally sensitive support to those struggling with similar challenges. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate cross-cultural boundaries, process familial pressures, and build a sense of identity that honors both where they come from and where they aspire to be.
During my free time, I enjoy expressing myself through music, exploring new hobbies and passions and exploring the Houston area.
I would love to walk alongside you on your journey to growth. Together, we can walk towards overcoming obstacles and building resilience to help you navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
“Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.”
