Good Day,
I, Christian Mejia, am a counselor-in-training under the supervisor of Cynthia Rojas, LPC. Currently, I am enrolled in Lamar University’s Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In 2020 I attained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston. Prior to my academic tenure at UH I served in the United States Army as an Airborne Infantryman. As a veteran of the Global War on Terror (specifically the Operation Enduring Freedom Campaign) fellow veterans and active-duty members can rest assured that they will have a counselor who is familiar with their unique experiences. A fun fact about me is that out of all the planes I have flow in I have jumped out of more than I landed in.
Consistent with the Person-Centered perspective to counseling, I believe that all individuals have the capability to enact positive change and transformation within their lives. As your counselor it is my position to establish a non-judgmental environment for you to engage in self-discovery and healthy emotional processing. Collaboratively we will identify your desired goals, process experiences that serve as barriers to the stated goals, and develop methods to assist in attaining your aims. I am opening to services to adults, teens, and children.
As your counselor you can expect a welcoming and non-judgmental environment, confidentiality, and anatomy as we embark on this endeavor together. Engaging in therapy is no simple undertaking, nor will it enact immediate results. However, with patience and dedication you have the opportunity to work
toward a more fulfilling and realized life.
