Welcome! My name is Julie Mikulencak, and I’m a LPC at Texas Counseling Center in Pearland. Making the decision to seek therapy is a wonderful act of self-care, and I’m glad you’re here. I believe therapy can allow individuals to experience healing and self-growth. I seek to establish a meaningful relationship with clients based on trust and support, aiming to empower my clients with the tools and insights needed to foster resilience and personal growth.

As a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with three years in the profession, my passion lies in helping adolescents and adults navigate life’s challenges and achieve emotional well-being. I have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), equipping me to help individuals process trauma and emotional distress, promoting resilience and healing. As a trauma-informed clinician, I have provided individual and group therapy services in an outpatient mental health setting and have counseled young adults with neurological differences in an afterschool transitional services program. My nine years as a high school English teacher have given me greater insight into child and adolescent development, enhancing my ability to provide effective counseling services.

I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based practices within a compassionate and supportive environment. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, viewing therapy as a collaborative journey. I utilize a variety of therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavior (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), and EMDR.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy playing with my dog, exercising, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
