My name is Aliyah Lewis, and I serve as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) at Texas Counseling Center, operating under the expert supervision of Dr. Rick Ertell, Ed.D., LPC-S. I received my undergrad in Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston, and I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria. At Texas Counseling Center, my primary objective is to assist individuals in navigating the complexities of life, facilitating personal development and growth.
From an early age, I have been driven by a deep-seated passion to understand and empathize with others, particularly those in need of support. My approach is characterized by empathy, active listening, and the application of evidence-based interventions. I predominantly utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy to cater to the unique needs of my clients. It is my commitment to provide a secure and non-judgmental environment where clients can freely express their concerns, develop effective coping mechanisms, and achieve their therapeutic objectives.
Since obtaining my LPC-A license, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients, typically ages 13 and above, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and anger management. In my free time I enjoy drawing as art is my passion, and on my off days I typically spend time with my family and friends.
I recognize the myriad of challenges that life presents, both ordinary and extraordinary, and I am here to ensure that you do not have to face them alone. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to create a nurturing and supportive space for you, guiding you on your path to enhancing your overall well-being.
