Hello, my name is Joshua Pulliam. I am a Counselor in Training at Texas Counseling Center in Pearland and under the supervision of Cynthia L. Rojas, M.A., LPC. I strive to be the kind of counselor who will understand you, your story, where you are heading and do what I can to help you get where you want to go.
I spent the last ten years serving the community through teaching at the high school level and am excited to bring all my experiences with me as I continue my journey. While education gave me an opportunity to work with people on their career and learning goals I have always been drawn to understanding and helping others in a holistic way. Counseling has proven to be an incredible opportunity to do this, and I have been passionate about this work since I sat down with my first client.
My counseling approach is about partnership. We will work together to help you achieve your goals and move forward in life as you see fit. My role is much like a guide, where you get to pick the destination. Everyone could use some support, encouragement and coaching on their journey and I am privileged to provide that service to you. I do my best to tailor my approach to you, but as far as my style goes you will see various elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Existentialism, and Internal Family Systems as you work with me.
Since I showed up on this rock over 33 years ago, I spent one of those years working in an orphanage in China. I love woodworking and have built several tables, bookshelves, and an assortment of other pieces. I am happily married to my wife of 7 years and am looking forward to the next seven years with her.
If you are seriously considering Counseling, then you are on your way to taking your first step toward meeting your goals and changing your life. I know that’s how counseling left me. Whoever you decide to partner with I hope they take you where you want to be.
