Hello, my name is Courtney Nelson, and I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate at Texas Counseling Center in Sugar Land, under the supervision of Dr. Peters, PhD, LPC-S.
I have a deep passion for walking alongside people on their journey toward healing and growth. I hold two master’s degrees from Lamar University, one in Family Studies and the other in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University.
For more than 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children and families, which has shaped my heart for creating safe, supportive, and empowering spaces for people of all ages. I draw from a variety of approaches, including Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Art Therapy.
I have experience supporting children, teens, adults, couples, and families, and I am especially passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community, individuals navigating trauma, and those impacted by addiction. My goal is always to meet clients where they are and walk with them at their pace whether they are processing past wounds, strengthening relationships, or building new coping skills.
At the core of my work is the belief that everyone has the ability to grow, heal, and thrive. It is truly an honor to be part of each client’s journey and to create a space where they feel seen, heard, and understood.
