Hello, my name is Lesly Sandoval. I am a counselor in training at Texas Counseling Center and under the supervision of Cynthia L. Rojas, M.A., LPC. I am currently a graduate student at Houston Christian University, where I am pursuing a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I was Born in El Salvador, I am proud to be bilingual, fluently speaking both Spanish and English. My journey toward counseling has been significantly influenced by my desire to bring awareness to mental health within my community, and my acceptance of where God has been leading me throughout this process. This dual motivation not only drives my academic pursuits, but also shapes my personal mission.
My role as a counselor-in-training and future counselor, extends beyond providing clinical interventions; it also involves fostering an environment where individuals feel safe to explore their vulnerabilities, as I believe that accessibility to mental health support is essential for personal growth and well-being. By integrating cultural sensitivity into my advocacy work, I strive to facilitate personal growth across different backgrounds and communities.
My counseling approach is grounded on helping you gain control of your life by empowering you to take ownership of your mental well- being. As we explore coping strategies and resilience-building techniques together, I believe that you will gain the tools necessary for sustained healing and personal development.
In my personal life, I enjoy dedicating time to nurture relationships with family, friends, and my two dogs- Blu and Rocky. These interactions promote emotional resilience and contribute positively to my overall mental health.
