Kayla Almaguer

Hello, my name is Kayla Almaguer, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) at Texas Counseling Center in Sugar Land, under the supervision of Dr. Gregory Scott Sparrow.

My areas of focus include stress and burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, communication, boundaries, emotional awareness and regulation, self-esteem, and navigating patterns that may be affecting daily functioning or relationships. My preferred populations are adults seeking individual counseling, with a focus on men’s mental health issues, as well as couples who are seeking a healthier relationship. 

My work is client-centered, collaborative, and grounded in respect for each person’s experiences, values, goals, and readiness for change. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, while adapting treatment to the individual or couple rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model.

I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard and understood while also receiving practical guidance and encouragement to take meaningful steps forward. My work emphasizes building insight, identifying realistic goals, strengthening communication and coping skills, and practicing strategies clients can use in daily life.
