Hello, my name is Jocelynee Mendez, I am a bilingual counselor-in-training fluent in Spanish and English at Texas Counseling Center in Pearland, under the supervision of Lizareli Bravo Lopez, M.A., LPC. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston – Downtown.
Throughout my counseling journey, I’ve had experience supporting children and teens navigating challenges such as anxiety, PTSD, depression, ADHD, mood and eating disorders, and more. I approach counseling with an open mind, compassion, and an integrative lens drawing from holistic, person-centered practices while incorporating evidence-based methods like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I’m especially passionate about working with diverse individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
When I’m not learning or expanding my understanding of mental health, I’m immersing myself in movement and energy, whether that’s going to the gym, flowing through yoga, or exploring new, soul-stirring adventures. I recharge in nature, balance my chakras, and take peaceful walks with my loved one and our three sweet pups. Music, gardening, and quiet moments help me stay grounded, always seeking harmony between mind, body, and spirit.
I would love to offer a space where you can come as you are, where your soul feels safe, your story is honored. Together, we’ll explore your journey with compassion, uncover your inner wisdom, and walk toward healing with grace. If you’re seeking a supportive space to be your full self, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your path to healing and self-discovery.
