Hi there! My name is Ryan Williamson, and I am a counselor-in-training under the supervision of Cynthia L. Rojas, MA, LPC. I’m currently a master’s student at Lamar University, earning my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University.
I know that life comes with challenges, stress, anxiety, and uncertainty in all forms. I believe that everyone needs to have a safe space to process and heal from life events. With compassion and support, I bring positivity and understanding into the equation to help my clients heal from life events that have led them to this point. Focusing on what someone values the most in their life will bring some of these stressors and experiences to a close.
My therapeutic approach is heavily rooted in acceptance and commitment therapy and person-centered therapy. The modality I choose to center my sessions in allows for the client to take control over their treatment and the outcomes of this process. I want my clients to feel in control over their destiny and healing. We will focus on what core values guide you through life to make the best decisions possible for you overall!
I was born in Chicago, Illinois but was raised right here in Houston, Texas. I live here with my husband and three cats. They are my whole world! In my free time, I like to spend time traveling and viewing the world from different perspectives. I also love to spend time playing video games, reading, and being outside with nature. I’ve always been the biggest fan of music and will thrive whenever music is played near me.
