Hello! My name is Erin Ford and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A) at Texas Counseling Center Sugar Land, under the supervision of Dr. Marcus Tanner, LMFT-S. Before graduating with my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, I worked for many years in biomedical research, corporate environments, and in non-profit settings.
During my work with a non-profit outside the U.S., I had the opportunity to spend time with couples, families, and youth and listen to them speak about their relationships and the challenges that they were facing. The time that my family spent there, along with the personal growth I experienced in individual counseling, led me to realize that this profession was what I wanted to do.
I work with couples, families, and individuals using a collaborative, person-centered approach to counseling that is based on the unique needs of each client and that incorporates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I believe that each client is unique and that the approach used in therapy should fit your lifestyle, values, and goals.
When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and hiking with my husband and son, growing veggies on the farm in our neighborhood, and reading. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family as well as volunteering in the children’s ministry at my church.
