Hello, my name is Erin Ford. I am a counselor-in-training at Texas Counseling Center in Sugar Land, under the supervision of Cynthia L. Rojas, MA, LPC. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Houston Christian University. I received my Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and spent more than 10 years working in biomedical research and corporate environments before transitioning to non-profit and volunteer work.
During my work with a non-profit outside the U.S., I had the opportunity to spend time with couples, families, and youth and listen to them speak about their relationships and the challenges that they were facing. The time that my family spent there, along with the personal growth I experienced in individual counseling, led me to realize that this profession was what I wanted to do.
I am fascinated by families and how family relationships shape experiences and perspectives on life. My goal is to assist couples and families by providing them with the support needed to grow in their understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of each other. I believe that each couple and family is unique and that the approach used in therapy should fit your lifestyle, values, and goals.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and hiking with my husband and son, growing veggies on the farm in our neighborhood, and reading. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family as well as volunteering in the children’s ministry at my church.
