Hello! My name is Ashley Fern, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) at Texas Counseling Center in Little Elm, under the supervision of Bonnie King, Ph.D., LPC-S, CSC.
I believe meaningful change happens within a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. My counseling style is person-centered, grounded in warmth, acceptance, and collaboration. I use an integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailoring therapy to your unique needs, values, and goals. I believe that approaching each client’s story with curiosity and compassion is central to meaningful therapeutic work.
My professional journey began in accounting and finance before transitioning into human resources and ultimately counseling. Along the way, I gained firsthand insight into career stress, burnout, and the emotional toll that can accompany high expectations and major life transitions.
I am passionate about supporting individuals ages 18+ navigating anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, career stress and exploration, relationship issues, identity, and values work, LGBTQIA+ issues, women’s issues, depression, chronic pain, and addiction-related concerns. I aim to walk alongside clients as they build insight, resilience, and a life that feels more aligned and meaningful.
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy walking in nature with my dog, Sadie, going to the movies, and all things science fiction, including attending Dallas Fan Expo each year.
Beginning counseling is a meaningful and courageous step. You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone, and I would be honored to support you on your journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery.
“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.”
