Hello, I am Ijeoma Egbuna, M.Ed., LPC-Associate, under the supervision of Jackeline Hurtado, LPC-S at Texas Counseling Center in the Katy location. I am a proud Houston, Texas native. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences from Texas Tech University in 2021. Since then, I completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lamar University in 2024.
I am passionate about working with children, teenagers, and adults as they navigate the challenges that come at them. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, helping with family dynamics, and assisting clients with self-awareness. My role is providing clients the guidance and support while holding a space for them to practice communication skills, coping skills, and become more confident as they are in the path of their healing journey.
As a therapist at Texas Counseling Center, I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental environment for clients that walk into the room. The modalities and evidence-based approaches I use in practice are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, play therapy, behavior modification, and mindfulness techniques.
During my free time I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, being a tourist in my own city, traveling, working out, and engaging in self-care.
