Hello, my name is Grace Arreola, and I am a Counselor-in-Training at the Texas Counseling Center at The Woodlands location, under the supervision of Lizareli Bravo Lopez, MA, LPC .
I am a master’s-level counseling practicum student passionate about helping individuals discover their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful change. I strive to provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
My passion for counseling grew from my experience working in the juvenile justice system and community mental health, where I witnessed the profound impact of trauma, adversity, and life challenges on individuals and families. These experiences inspired me to pursue a career in clinical mental health counseling and reinforced my desire to help others navigate difficult seasons of life with hope and confidence.
My counseling approach is primarily Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while maintaining a trauma-informed perspective. I believe every client is the expert on their own life, and I work collaboratively to help identify strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and create lasting positive change. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, behavioral concerns, relationship challenges, and other emotional difficulties.
Beyond the counseling room, I embrace a holistic approach to wellness. I find grounding in exercise, yoga, and running. You can often find me playing soccer or spending time outdoors, whether it’s enjoying the sunshine or feeling the grass beneath my feet. I believe that connecting with nature plays an important role in maintaining a healthy mind and body, and I encourage clients to discover wellness practices that support their own personal growth.
Fun Fact: I earned two bachelor’s degrees from Sam Houston State University—one in Psychology and one in Criminal Justice—which continue to shape my passion for understanding human behavior and advocating for others.
