Hello and welcome! My name is Karen R. Resendez, and I am a Counselor-in-Training at the Texas Counseling Center’s Pearland location, practicing under the supervision of Cynthia Rojas, MS, LPC. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Houston–Clear Lake, with a dual focus in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) and Clinical Mental Health Counseling (LPC). I am also receiving clinical supervision from Lizareli Bravo, MA, LPC.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I am fluent in both English and Spanish. In my free time, I love exploring new places with my husband and our fur baby, especially when it involves a little adventure or discovering a great new place to eat. I deeply value time with my family and friends and cherish making lasting memories with them. When I need to recharge, you can find me painting or coloring that allow me to express myself.
I have a deep passion for working with children, teens, young adults, and couples navigating life’s challenges. My experience as a Registered Behavior Therapist (RBT) has given me the opportunity to work closely with children and teens with Autism, which has further fueled my dedication to this work.
Through my counseling journey I have working with individuals with trauma, ADHD Depression my approach is Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
I understand that beginning counseling can feel overwhelming, but with the right support, healing and growth are possible. My purpose is to walk alongside you, helping you recognize and build on your strengths as you face life’s curveballs. You are the author of your own story—and I would be honored to be a part of your journey. Let’s uncover your strength together.
