Hello, my name is Laura Milo, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate at the Texas Counseling Center’s Woodlands location, under the supervision of Felicia Stones, LPC-S. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Sam Houston State University.

Throughout my career as both an educator and therapist, I have had the privilege of pursuing my passion for helping adolescents and adults navigate life’s challenges, discover their strengths, and work toward their goals and fullest potential. My background in education has given me a unique perspective on the importance of meeting people where they are and providing support as they grow and develop.

I work with adolescents, young adults, individuals, couples, families, and single parents who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or other life stressors. My therapeutic approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. I focus on helping clients develop practical tools, build self-awareness, recognize their strengths, and take meaningful steps toward positive and lasting change. I strive to create a therapeutic environment rooted in emotional safety, trust, compassion, and empowerment, while recognizing the lasting impact that past experiences can have on our present well-being and future.

I believe every person has the desire and ability to become the best version of themselves and use their unique gifts and strengths to make a positive impact on the world. At times, however, life’s journey may take longer or look different than we anticipated—and that’s okay. My role is to walk alongside you through that journey, offering a safe, supportive, and encouraging space where healing and growth can take place. As long as there is breath, there is hope. No matter where you are in your journey, there is always an opportunity for healing, growth, and a new beginning.

When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where your story is honored and your individual strengths are recognized. Together, we will explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be influencing your current circumstances while developing practical strategies to support meaningful change. My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, recognize your capacity for growth, and feel empowered to create the life you envision.

I welcome individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside each client as they pursue healing, connection, personal growth, and greater fulfillment.
