Hello, my name is Ericka Solis, and I am a counselor-in-training at the Texas Counseling Center in Pearland, working under the supervision of Jhoánie Romero, LPC, MA. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston–Clear Lake.

I am passionate about supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, and more. My experience includes working with immigrant populations and survivors of violence, and I am committed to providing culturally sensitive care that honors each client’s unique background and experiences.

My counseling journey began through my upbringing in a Mexican culture where mental health was often viewed as taboo. Recognizing disparities in access to mental health support within the Hispanic community, and being bilingual in English and Spanish, this has shaped my passion for creating a space where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered.

My approach to counseling is collaborative, client-centered, and trauma-informed care. I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely supported and encouraged to grow. Together, building on strengths and working toward healing in a nonjudgmental and safe environment.

Outside of counseling, I find peace and grounding in walking in nature, which serves as an important part of my self-care and reflection. I also enjoy expressing my imagination through painting and drawing, as well as engaging in different DIY projects when I want to slow down and be creative. In my free time, I truly value spending quality time with my family and friends, and I also enjoy the comfort and joy of being with my cat. I especially appreciate the small, meaningful moments that help me feel connected and balanced in everyday life.

Beginning this journey is an important step toward change. I look forward to working together, meeting you where you are, and collaborating with you in a way that feels authentic to you.
