Hello! My name is Rachel Qihao Rao, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), supervised by Leigh Rainwater, LPC-S. I earned my Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston and have been working with the Texas Counseling Center since June 2023.
In 2020, I embarked on a journey of spiritual awakening, leading me to make a significant career shift from my successful seven-year career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to the counseling field. This transition was inspired by my personal and spiritual growth, along with a deep commitment to empathy, compassion, genuineness, unconditional positive regard, and the search for meaning in life. I believe my passion, knowledge, and unique career experience can help individuals and families achieve mental health, wellness, and personal goals.
I have clinical experience working with children, teenagers, adults, and couples dealing with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and other symptoms. From a humanistic counseling perspective, these can often manifest as various challenging life situations, including:
