Hello! My name is Raquel Cullinane. I am a counselor-in-training under the supervision of Cynthia L. Rojas, MA, LPC. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston–Victoria. I am also a veteran of the United States Air Force and have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston.
Throughout my life, I have faced many challenges, some of which include moving to the United States from Venezuela as a child, joining, leading, and leaving a military lifestyle, and pursuing higher education while being a stay-at-home mom for my littles! Each of these experiences, and everything in between, has propelled me toward my passion for mental health and my wholehearted love of empowering others.
Whether you are experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, or perhaps feeling stuck or finding it tough to adjust to changes in your life, I hope to use what I have learned to help you feel hopeful and confident in yourself so that you can thrive! Through a balance of cognitive and solution-focused therapy approaches, my goals are to help you not only process or reframe but also channel your strengths and form a path that feels better for you.
Other than learning about things related to mental health, I love spending my time with my family, being in the water, moving my body, reading, and having thoughtful conversations. I also love being outdoors, traveling, trying new things, and having fun.
I look forward to making a safe, judgment-free therapeutic space where you can feel supported, heard, and comfortable to explore, process, and feel what is holding you back to find ways to move forward and upward toward healing. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you take these brave steps through life’s beautiful challenges, strive toward the person you long to be, and achieve your greatest goals!
