Hello, my name is Anamile Idalia Guerra. I am fluent in English and Spanish and a bilingual counselor-in-training under the supervision of Cynthia Rojas, LPC. I am currently enrolled at the University of the Southwest in a clinical mental health counseling program. I graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I am passionate about understanding why our minds think the way they do and why we act in certain ways. I also want to help people improve their lives and believe people can make positive changes. My belief is rooted in trust, empathy, genuineness, respect, and compassion. You can expect a confidential, honest, and non-judgemental environment from me during our time together. My therapeutic approach stems from person-centered therapy, positive psychology, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I will help empower you, and together, we can construct goals and develop coping strategies so that you can strive towards a better you.
Fun fact: I lived in southeast Asia for 3 years and am a certified open-water diver.
Another fact is that I am also passionate about singing.
